Official Cirrus Training Centre

Insurance Recognised Cirrus Training Certification

We are a national leader in training pilots in Cirrus aircraft and we are proud to be an official Cirrus Training Centre. Cirrus Standardised Instructor Pilots (CSIPs) undergo extensive ground and flight training in Duluth at the Cirrus factory to ensure standardisation and expert knowledge in Cirrus flight instruction. As an official Cirrus Training Centre we can offer Cirrus Transition Training Certification that is recognised by insurance companies and Cirrus Centres around the world. This would allow you to hire our Cirrus SR22T or an aircraft abroad.

UK CAA Baseless ATO (0527)

CK Aviation operates a baseless ATO providing our clients with the after sales support they need to safely and effectively operate their Cirrus Aircraft.  We recognise that our clients are successful, busy individuals so we have created an Approved Training Organisation that means we can travel to the clients home airfield and conduct training for the issue of a PPL(A), night rating, IR(R) or CB-IR at your convenience on your schedule. It is this innovative approach and flexibility that makes us industry leaders in the Cirrus flight training we provide.

We are happy to introduce you to past customers to discuss how they found flying with us

“Doing the EASA Instrument Rating with its 7 exams isn’t easy but CK are very good at assessing the ability of the student and pitching the tuition to be demanding without being overwhelming so that progress is steadily made towards the goal of the qualification. With instructors who have flown on the airlines and on executive jets the tuition incorporates a number of airline procedures which is always going to make a private pilot a safer pilot and with a broader view of the planning considerations and awareness of the threats and risks involved in any flight to be undertaken. The tuition is thorough and comprehensive as well as being challenging but is still enjoyable.”

JONATHAN SANDS, SR20 G6 G-SNDS

“I was looking for an SR22T and one came up and, because of the demand for these aircraft, I didn’t want to risk losing it so I had to make my mind up one Friday morning. There was no time to even view the aircraft with another potential buyer in the wings and so I thought do I trust this man? I thought it over for an hour and, because I had a good feeling about the various telephone conversations I had had with Charlie, I decide to bite the bullet and go ahead – sight unseen. I have never regretted that decision and the aircraft was in the good order that I was told it was in and without doubt it has turned out to be the right aircraft to buy.”

CLIVE AITKENHEAD, SR22T G3 G-OZZT

“I recently purchased a Cirrus SR-22 from Charlie, and I could not recommend him more! The plane itself was in excellent condition. The overall process of purchasing the plane was efficient. His knowledge of the aircraft was informative and extensive, as he took time to answer all of my questions and concerns. Quality was evident not only in the aircraft, but in Charlie’s customer service skills with his friendly demeanour. So, to anyone looking for a first-class, reputable aircraft salesman, look no further!”

ROB LAMB, SR22 G3 2-SKYZ

“Given that Charlie’s has probably been involved in most of the new Cirrus sales in the UK for at least the last 5 years his extensive knowledge and brokerage skills were invaluable in us securing our perfect aircraft pre-owned example. Charlie sourced a suitable aircraft from our specification, and negotiated a successful sale, helping with escrow and all the paperwork. The process included importing the aircraft which Charlie managed on our behalf, liaising with HM Customs and excise ensuring all VAT regulations were followed and receipts were obtained. I have no reservation in recommending Charlie assists in all negotiations and acquisitions.”

STUART DENHAM, SR22 G3 N122ZT

“When we bought our SR22 G5 in November 2018 Charlie Kimbell was so helpful in making the process as easy as possible. He then explained the Embark program for conversion to flying a Cirrus which is a free package to all new Cirrus owners. Charlie then came to Guernsey where the aircraft is based and trained both of us for the 12 hours each as specified by Embark. We can recommend Charlie as really honest and highly professional pilot/instructor and wish him all the best with his new venture.”

JOHN TOSTEVIN, SR22 G5 G-EGJB

“”I would often see Charlie at my home airfield training pilots on the cirrus. I had a few passing conversations with him about the Cirrus and the full Instrument rating. I felt he was very open, encouraging and inspiring.  I knew if I ever got round to do the instrument rating he would be the training provider I would use. I wanted to see how the full IR differed from the IMC rating and I asked Charlie if he wouldn’t mind taking me up on an airways flight. He put me in contact with Isabel, one of the IR instructors. We flew to Jersey in the airways, I found Isabel to be very calm and encouraging, something that I found lacking from other flight instructors I had used in the past. After completing the IR theory exams Isabel did most of my training, I did fly with Charlie, Matt and Neil. All the instructors had similar traits which I believe all FIs should have they were adaptable, knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. This allowed me to learn but also find it a very enjoyable experience, Isabel was great on the paperwork side making sure I had everything in place for my test. The instructors also used the IR in real world flying and were able to provide helpful tips for using the rating after passing. I strongly believe CK aviation made the process of getting my IR as easy as possible and I am so grateful to have done my training with them.”
